After the Durham Thundercats and Ripley Wolves split the first four games of the WOAA Senior AA semi-final series, the Wolves took the next two games to take the series 4-2.
On March 15 in Ripley the teams traded goals until the Wolves finally pulled away in the third period and an empty-net goal sealed a 7-4 win.
The next night in Durham the Wolves took a 4-1 lead into the second period and a 7-2 lead into the third as they won the game 7-3 to advance to the AA championship series for the first time in modern team history.
Ripley is trailing the defending-champion Clinton Radars in the finals 2-0 so far. Clinton beat the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks in six games to advance to the finals.
Last year the Radars swept the Thundercats in the championship series.
